Engineered wood flooring is perfect for those areas of the house where solid wood flooring may not be suitable, such as basements, conservatories or over under-floor heating.

Engineered wooden flooring is constructed with layers of real wood pressed together. The real wood surface veneer layer available in many different thicknesses ranging from 0.5mm up to 6 mm and is also available in many different designs and finishes.

During the manufacturing process, the layers of real timber run in different directions meaning it is more dimensionally stable than solid wood, but identical to solid wooden flooring in appearance.

Oak Hardwood FlooringEngineered wood (strip or plank effect) can be glued down over various sub floor. Some engineered woods (strip and plank ) can be nailed down which require a wood sub floor.

Engineered wood can also be layed as a floating floor where the tongue and groove are glued together, but the floor is not anchored to the sub floor.
